201  Every picture tells a story.
Every quilt project has a little bit of you stitched into it and we all have a story to tell.  First up is Katie Pasquini-Masopust and a lesson on how to take your design from a picture to a quilt.  Then Laura and Linda Kemshall join us as recurring guests this season, and reveal the stories behind their narrative quilts. Last up Sue Hausmann has a weekly machine quilting lesson. Today is choosing threads and fabrics.

202  Color
Color is the spirit within our designs; it evokes emotion, creates movement and reinforces our design and pattern.  First, fabric designer, Tina Givens demonstrates a simple but striking appliqué technique using free motion stitching.  Next Beth Wheeler uses her computer to make a journal cover from a recycled book. Then host, Pokey Bolton plays with color and design to make whimsical Pop Art pet portraits.  Last up it’s stitch in the ditch quilting with Sue Hausmann.

203   Texture
This program explores different ways of achieving textural interest on our quilts.  First, paint fusible web to create lustrous, one-of a-kind fabrics. Then the Kemshalls show how quilted fabrics provide surface textures that can be enhanced with rolled-on paint color. Next Carol Ingram creates wall décor using felted fibers and mixed media.  Last up Sue Hausmann moves on to our next machine technique; echo quilting.

204 Embellishment
Contemporary quilts often include some form of surface embellishment such as charms or fiber, or maybe the addition of paint or another surface design.  First is a lesson on using puff paints to create dimension on your quilts.  Then Ruth Rae shows how to create fabric pillow charms that can be used as jewelry or to enhance your quilts. Next Jamie Fingal demonstrates the fun of embellishing with uncommon metal elements including zippers.  Last up Sue Hausmann is back with a lesson on another quilt basic; free motion machine stippling.
